Originally built in 1936 out of concrete, brick, and
steel to store telephone switching equipment, this building
has stood the test of time beautifully and provides an excellent
contrast for urban contemporary interiors.
Did you know that most of the degradation to the environment from
property development occurs from the construction of ANY new building
no mater how GREEN it is intended to be?
Comparably, recycling an existing building has the least impact
on the environment since there is far less timber, cement, adhesives,
paint, sheet rock, and other materials necessary to create the final
product. The Telephone Building is a renovation of an existing historic
property that has incorporated several important sustainable materials
for the interior renovations to further reduce the impact on the environment.
